The Econometric Society Thanks EVP Bernard Salanié and Welcomes New EVP Enrique Sentana

Dear Members of the Econometric Society,

The transition of the Society’s Executive Vice President formally took place May 1, 2018 when Bernard Salanié (Columbia University) stepped down after five years of distinguished leadership and Enrique Sentana (CEMFI, Madrid) took his place.

I would like to thank Bernard for his service to the Society.  Bernard’s dedication and hard work on behalf of the Society has been a huge asset.  He successfully smoothed the transition to the Society’s new headquarters at Yale University and overall, left the Society in an improved position of strength. I am sure that you all join me in thanking him for his service.

I am pleased to welcome Enrique Sentana, who was elected by the Fellows to succeed Bernard as our new Executive Vice-President. In this capacity, Enrique will serve as both Secretary and Treasurer of the Society.  We are thrilled to have Enrique join the Society's Executive Committee.

Warm regards,

Tim Besley
President
