Summer School of Econometric Society in Hong Kong (2020)

Because of uncertainty about when the coronavirus will be defeated, we regretfully concluded that we should cancel the Summer School of Econometric Society in Hong Kong (2020).  We were excited about having the summer school hosted by the Hong Kong University.  We were overwhelmed by the cooperation and goodwill of the local organizer, Wing Suen, and the Faculty of Economics and Business of Hong Kong University.   We thank the lecturers (Sylvain Chassang, Herve Moulin and Marzena J. Rostek) who agreed to spend time with students.   We are sure that we will return to Hong Kong soon in the future.

The Econometric Society is pleased to announce that the 8th Summer School of the Econometric Society will be held at the Faculty of Business and Economics, University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, July 27-July 31, 2020.  

Lecturers are (in alphabetical order) Sylvain Chassang (New York University), In-Koo Cho (Emory University), Hervé Moulin (University of Glasgow and Higher School of Economics, St. Petersburg ), Marzena J. Rostek (University of Wisconsin) and Ariel Rubinstein (Tel Aviv University and New York University).   

In addition to lectures, we organize workshops where a selected group of participating students can present their research. Interested students can file applications at https://www.zvulunylab.com/esSummer2020 between January 1 and February 28, 2020.  An applicant must be a member of the Econometric Society at the time of application. Admission decisions will be announced around March 31, 2020 and applicants will be notified individually. Information about scholarships and registration will become available around the same time.
