CANCELLED: Summer School in Dynamic Structural Econometrics; PENDING, DSE Conference, Zurich

CANCELLED: DSE SUMMER SCHOOL; PENDING, DSE CONFERENCE (A decision on the DSE Conference will be made in mid-April)

It is with great sadness that we must CANCEL the DSE2020 summer school in Zürich. As in most other countries, the major Swiss Universities decided to close their doors for students due to the Covid crisis until the end of the semester. Due to this dramatic development, we came to the conclusion that it will be impossible to host the DSE2020 summer school, as it was planned on taking place right at the end of the academic semester.

At this time though, we are holding off on making a decision regarding the DSE Conference. We hope to make a definitive decision about the conference by mid-April.

Lecturers include:  Fedor Iskhakov, Michael Keane, Felix Kübler, Robert. A Miller (Carnegie Mellon University), John Rust (Georgetown University), Simon Scheidegger (University of Lausanne), Tony Smith (Yale University), Bertel Schjerning (University of Copenhagen).

We are pleased to announce the 2020 Econometric Society summer school in Dynamic  Structural  Econometrics.  The 2020 Econometric Society DSE summer school consists of 5 days of lectures held in conjunction with the 4th Conference on Dynamic Structural Models (June 18- 19, 2020).

The  primary focus of DSE summer schools is to provide students with tools and “hands on" computational instruction to carry out research in applied microeconometrics with strong emphasis on closely integrating economic and econometric theory in empirical work. We will discuss state-of-the-art methods for solving, simulating and estimating  dynamic programming models and use a variety of empirical applications to illustrate how these tools and methods are used in practice. Besides the core components, including single agent models, equilibrium models, and dynamic games, the course will also feature applications that follow the special theme of this year’s conference, see belowLecturers of the 2020 summer school include Fedor Iskhakov, Michael Keane, Felix Kübler, Robert. A Miller, John Rust, Simon Scheidegger, Tony Smith, and Bertel Schjerning.

The special theme of this year’s conference is Methodology and applications in environmental economics and climate change

This conference aims to bring together researchers from different fields to discuss the economic consequences of climate change and how economic policy can be employed to tackle climate change and its consequences. Invited Speakers at the conference include Mike Barnett, Ken Gillingham, Michael Keane, Roger Lagunoff, William Peterman, Christoph Schär,  and Tony Smith.
